The IGdJ wishes you a happy new year 5785.
The image shows the interior of the synagogue on Elbstrasse (now Neanderstrasse) in Hamburg's Neustadt district, which was consecrated in October 1790. It was the first large independent synagogue building of the High German Israelite community of Altona. A mikvah and a rabbi's apartment also belonged to the synagogue. In 1906, the property was sold and the buildings demolished.
