Award Ceremony at the Start of the London Book Fair
On 9 March 2026, the 16th ICMA Awards were presented at the start of the London Book Fair. The International Creative Media Award (ICMA Award) is one of the most prestigious international competitions in the fields of books, design, magazines and media.
The Graphic History ‘Oberbrechen: A German Village Confronts Its Nazi Past’, developed by historians Dr Stefanie Fischer and Dr Kim Wünschmann in collaboration with artist Liz Clarke, received the Silver Award in the category ‘Concept and Innovation’. The ICMA Award honours outstanding and coherent book design in all categories. This is achieved when content and form are merged into a convincing overall result. An excellent book is carefully conceived and presented in a format appropriate to its content. The jury praises “Oberbrechen” for its innovative graphic research on German-Jewish history and the Holocaust and its aftermath.
